Cedars-Sinai performs more than 250 kidney transplants per year. According to Irene Kim, MD, 30 percent of these patients have a highly sensitized immune system, causing them to reject the transplant due to the antibodies their bodies produce. Determined to make kidney transplants an option for everyone, researchers at Cedars-Sinai have discovered a new pathway to treat patients with antibody rejection.
