Overview
This interactive experience serves as a review to aid the clinical practice for gastroenterologists, hepatologists, advanced practice providers and gastroenterology fellows to aid in patient management, including virtually all aspects of clinical gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy. This course has been developed to meet the educational needs of practicing gastroenterologists and GI fellows to improve their knowledge of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders to enhance the quality of their practice. Each content category – esophagus, stomach/duodenum, liver, biliary tract, pancreas, small intestine and colon – will explore anatomy, development and function/physiology; symptoms/clinical presentation; and the diseases and disorders in each.

Objectives

  1. Identify risk factors for and apply strategies to prevent gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders
  2. Retain and apply clinical “pearls” to diagnose complex GI disorders and identify and integrate therapeutic options based on guidelines and best clinical practice recommendations
  3. Demonstrate competence in certification and recertification exams in gastroenterology as required by the American Board of Internal Medicine
